Welcome!

GoForth Missions is a missions organization that was founded in the early nineties by Bill and Joanie Lynch who pastored a church in Park City, UT at the time.

Currently GoForth has missionaries who are working in Ukraine, and nations in Central Asia where they are planting churches, making disciples, preaching the gospel, and equipping churches to start walking in the power of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

GoForth Missions has a vision for sending out missionaries around the planet, who will save souls, make disciple-making disciples to bring the Love of the Father to the darkest corners of the planet. We believe that the gospel has an appetite for the darkest, most dangerous places on the planet.

We are not looking for a way out. We're looking for a way in, in order to raid hell and save souls from the jaws of satan.

...the gates of hell shall not prevail... Matthew 16:18

We believe we don't have to wait for months, but just go!

Jesus said "Go".

Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. John 4:35

We also have a passion for equipping believers to actually step into ministering in the prophetic gift, healing and other gifts of the Spirit.

Look at the page with Our Missionaries to see more about what we are all up to now, and to sign up for our prayer letters.

History of GoForth

Bill and Joanie Lynch, the founders of GoForth Missions, started their walk with Christ during the Jesus movement. Bill, after dropping out of a prestige college with a full scholarship, embarked on a long journey to find the meaning of life. This journey took him from coast to coast in America to Europe, India, Afghanistan, Egypt, and many other places where he was studying religions. As he was pursuing the meaning of life, Jesus was pursuing him. For a long time Bill resisted it, but after some life and death situations and believing that God came through and saved him, he finally gave his life to Jesus in the jungles of India. Eventually he made his way back to the States and Bill and Joanie were part of a powerful ministry called Shiloh, which was connected to Calvary Chapel where they gained priceless experience in ministry, outreach, leadership, living by faith, discipleship and teaching the word. This was also the ministry they were both part of when they got married.

In this podcast by Ken Fish called God is Not a Theory Joanie shared their story of how they got saved, and how God called them to become missionaries.

Throughout those years, Bill and Joanie developed an extraordinary value of being very careful to seek the Lord and receive prophetic guidance about where to go, and what to do.

At a particular service during the Vineyard revival with John Wimber Southern California, the Lord touched Bill in a powerful way, and he was literally in something like a trance for a long period of time, as a dear brother continued to cover him in prayer, not knowing exactly what was going on, but he could see that the Lord was doing something powerful.  It turned out that during that experience Bill saw an elaborate prophetic vision that had to do with the fall of the Soviet Union, and a very specific prayer to pray for God to break the power of that stronghold, and many other prophetic things that would all be fulfilled eventually.

In 1980 Bill went on a trip to the Soviet Union to explore opportunities to help Brother Andrew's ministry, which today is called Open Doors, hoping to use his drug-smuggling skills from his past life for smuggling bibles. During that trip he was tasked delivering a secret message to a pastor of an underground church. He ended up getting chased by the KGB, and almost getting caught. You can read about that story here on John's blog. At the time God gave instruction that it wasn't yet time, and he was to return to the States and wait for further instructions.  Fast forward to 1992, Bill, Joanie and their four children were living in Park City, UT where they pastored a church called Park City Fellowship. They were having a massive garage sale. The sale of virtually everything they owned covered the plane tickets, but not much more. They were off to Kostroma, Russia. In Kostroma, they helped launch and taught in a bible school, and then in less than a year later God called them to the city Kharkov, Ukraine where they planted a church that produced many other churches and ministries. Bill and Joanie served in Ukraine for fifteen years before the Lord called them to countries in Central Asia where they started a powerful work.

Bill went to be with the Lord in the first days of 2020. You can see this wonderful presentation of Bill's Life in Words that was shared at the funeral by pastor Scott Fine.
